Alex Igelman is a gaming consultant and lawyer with over twenty-two years of experience. Since 1992, Alex has been one of the leading pioneers in the enforcement of gambling debts in Canada following the landmark case of Boardwalk Regency Corp. v. Maalouf. (1992),6 O.R. (3d) 737 (Ont. C.A.). In November of 1997, just when the online gambling industry was just getting started, Alex presented at the First Internet Symposium on Internet Gambling Law and Management in Washington, D.C. Since then he has acted on behalf of numerous Nevada land based casinos such as Mirage Resorts, MGM, Wynn Resorts, Ballys, Caesars and Hilton Hotels for asset recovery efforts in international locales.
During the growth of online gambling in the mid-nineties, Alex Igelman became one of the first lawyers in the industry. Due to years of legal experience in gambling Igelman has been requested countless time to assist in the development of online gaming strategies. Because of the necessity of information Igelman founded Gaming Research Partners in 2007, a full service gaming consultancy that specializes in research.
Alex Igelman currently lives in Toronto, Canada and is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the International Masters of Gaming Law and sits on the editorial board of the Gaming Law Review and Economics.
